There’s a lot that goes on behind the scenes at Good. Food. Stories. We each keep a list of posts to write, recipes to test, and restaurants to visit. We have guest posts assigned to former co-workers, correspondents in cities around the country, a Namibian chef, and of course the enigmatic C.C.
Following Casey’s return from food blogger camp, all rosy-cheeked and rejuvenated, we had a major brainstorming session in which we began mapping out GFS 2.0. (We ate some killer tacos and sopes al pastor while doing so. More about those in the future.) We came up with even more food-filled ideas, but before we go on, we’d like to hear from you. As with our food, we’re more interested in quality than quantity. And we don’t want to end up like this…
So we’re asking you to send us your thoughts, wishes, comments, and desires. What would you like to see more of on GFS? Is there something you really want, really need, and can’t find elsewhere on the interwebs? Do you want more recipes and fewer reviews? Perhaps more travel pieces? More articles from professional cooks? Maybe you just want Danielle to stop mentioning her damn dog in her every post!?!
Nah. Who doesn’t love Rocco Di Cane?
Anyway, please post your comments/suggestions/constructive feedback and (like those annoying New York Times commercials that are probably contributing the death of newspapers) get the conversation going. If you prefer to send your suggestions right to the source, you can always email us at editorsATgoodfoodstoriesDOTcom. Grazie tutti!

Ah, the dismal greige skyline of Manhattan. Haven’t seen you in a while. What? No, I wasn’t fake-baking! I may be living in Jersey, but bitch, pleeez. This is the real deal. I was basking poolside all last week in Ixtapa, Mexico at Club Med Food Blogger Camp—or as we should have called it, Camp BloggaWannaMargarita.
Don’t get me wrong—we were hell-bent on soaking up the knowledge in our daily workshops, which have been well-documented by my fellow campers. (I’ve included a list of our blogs at the end of the post.) However, as part of my unofficial observation of food bloggers in the wild, I quickly began to notice a pattern in our migratory habits.
The blogger species, like its hard-bitten newspaper-reporter predecessor, loves to congregate around the bar. And when free drinks come at all hours courtesy of the all-powerful Club Med Bracelet, the bar can be whenever and wherever the pack wants it to be.
And so we brought mugs of Sol to the afternoon workshop! Took Mojitos to the post-workshop beach gathering/daily pummeling by the Mexico surf in preparation for Greyhounds at the pre-dinner happy hour! And of course, closed out every evening under the stars at the Miramar bar with a glass of vino rojo.

A few days ago, I got a happy surprise – as it turns out, I am the winner of the free trip to Club Med Ixtapa this January for a week of Food Blogger Camp! I’ll be hanging out with Dianne Jacob of Will Write for Food, David Lebovitz, Jaden Hair of Steamy Kitchen, Michael and Donna Ruhlman, Matt Armendariz of Matt Bites, Diane Cu and Todd Porter of White on Rice Couple, Elise Bauer of Simply Recipes, food stylist Adam Pearson, and (I hope) lots of other food bloggers for a week of taco stands, tequila tastings, market tours — oh yeah, and sure-to-be-useful workshops on photography, multimedia training, and more from the beaches of western Mexico.
Look for lots of Good. Food. Stories. from Ixtapa this January – and if you’re going to Food Blogger Camp, let me know so we can plan for an introductory drink!
