As we wind down the year here at Good. Food. Stories., I’m happier than a cat with a new piece of Christmas string to look back at all the stories we were able to share in 2012. From a life-changing stint in an old Maine farmhouse to a futile attempt at the Gwyneth Paltrow GOOP diet to homemade ravioli (no pasta maker necessary) to the long-lost recipes of Sassy magazine, it’s been a whirlwind that I can’t wait to continue in 2013.

Good. Food. Stories. will be back on January 3 with new recipes, book giveaways, restaurant recommendations both schmancy and less-spendy, lots of gorgeous photos, and even more oversharing on my part. In the meantime, let’s relive one more GFS holiday favorite: Buddy the Elf’s spaghetti pie. Inspired by the now-classic Will Ferrell movie and made with maple syrup and cream, it’s a surprisingly appetizing addition to a Christmas morning brunch. Serve it with candy canes or candy corn if you want, but I think it’s perfect on its own.

Get the recipe for Buddy the Elf’s spaghetti pie—and have a very happy holiday season. I’ll see you in January!
