Classic Snacks Made From Scratch: Pre-Order Now!
What will you be doing seven months from now? Will you still be huddled under piles of blankets, waiting with dim hope and pale legs for the first signs of spring? Will you be planning your garden, visions of peas and carrots dancing in your head? Or will you be baking a batch of Nutter Butters or setting up a tray full of Mallo Cups, using recipes from my just-released cookbook?
Yes! It’s coming soon, on February 12, 2013–and just as exciting, it’s got a new title: Classic Snacks Made from Scratch: 70 Homemade Versions of Your Favorite Brand-Name Treats. Truly new and improved, just like the copy on a box of Newtons might say.
I know, we all can barely wait for the day to come. But what will make the days fly faster, and help me out immensely in terms of spreading the word on the cookbook, is for you to pre-order now on Amazon or Barnes & Noble. Why is this so important?
- because the paperbacks will start shipping from warehouses as soon as January 21, pre-ordering from speedy sites like Amazon means you could get yours sooner than the official on-sale date–possibly two weeks sooner in some cases.
- because pre-orders help Amazon rankings–they’ll be counted toward first-week book sales, pushing Classic Snacks higher on bestseller lists like Movers & Shakers the week it’s released.
- and if you know anything about SEO, the more clicks over to the Classic Snacks pages (including just hitting the “like” button below my author name on the Amazon page) sends more juice to search engines, making it more likely to pop up as a recommendation–and eventual sale–to others. Even if you don’t know SEO, know that this is a good thing and an important thing to support sales of the book.
Of course,Classic Snacks will also be available in brick-and-mortar bookstores as well as on Kindle and Nook. No matter whether you prefer hard copies and in-person transactions or a completely digital existence, there’s no excuse to keep you from buying. Stay in touch on the Classic Snacks Facebook page for updates on where you can pick up a copy in the real world, including placements in independent bookstores, gift stores, and other fun locations.
And yes, I’ll be spending a lot of time in 2013 visiting you and your cities in person to sign books, do demos, and get down with the snack lovers of America. New York, Boston, Portland (Maine), Atlanta, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle are on the agenda with more to come–again, I’ll share details here and on Facebook as soon as plans are finalized.
But for now: pre-order, pre-order, pre-order!
